We are back for the chase! The Indian players are in a huddle before spreading out and taking their respective field positions. Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd are the two openers for Netherlands. Arshdeep Singh to start proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

  • .

    ... THE RUN CHASE ...

  • .

Powerplay promise, death-over pain - The Netherlands started well, especially Aryan Dutt, who removed both openers in the Powerplay. They also held their own through the middle overs, apart from a dropped chance by Michael Levitt that proved a bit costly. Bas de Leede was wicketless but economical, but the momentum swung when Roelof van der Merwe bowled the 16th over and went for 15, handing the initiative back to India. Logan van Beek picked up a three-fer and Kyle Klein took one, but their death-over execution let them down once again. Now, their batters face an uphill task against a strong Indian bowling attack. Join us in a bit for the second essay.

  • .

Dube unleashes after a shaky start- India lost Abhishek Sharma again, still without a run in this World Cup, while Kishan failed to convert his start. Captain SKY and Tilak steadied the innings as they did against Pakistan, but both fell in their 30s. However, Shivam Dube then provided the impetus with a smashing 66 off 31, his career-best in T20Is, including six towering sixes, while Pandya chipped in with another quick cameo and Rinku flexed his muscles with a big hit in the final over.

  • .

Big finish puts India in control - A fine batting display from India sees them put a commanding total on the board. Netherlands had their moments, but their death bowling came back to haunt them, leaking 75 runs in the final five overs.

  • 19.6

OUT! CAUGHT! A wicket to end the innings! Full and wide on off, Hardik Pandya reaches out and loses his shape in the process. Slices it off the outer half of the blade towards wide long off, where Roelof van der Merwe moves to his left and takes a good catch. India finish with 193/6 on the board!

  • 19.5

The batters sneak in a bye. Off-cutter, going across. Rinku thinks it is too high and he lets it go. The ball is below his head and it goes on the bounce to the keeper. Hardik Pandya calls him through for a bye. Scott Edwards feels that he can run upto the stumps and effect the run out. Edwards breaks the stumps but Hardik is home by then.

  • 19.4

SIX! That nearly hit the display car! Off-cutter, on a length, on middle and leg. Rinku bends and gets under the ball. He swipes it over square leg for a six.

  • 19.3

Did that brush something? Full and around leg, Rinku crouches for the sweep but fails to connect. Half a shout for caught behind by Scott Edwards but nothing doing. Looked like the ball brushed the pads.

  • .

Rinku Singh comes out to the middle now.

  • 19.2
Shivam Dube c sub Timm van der Gugten b Logan van Beek 66 (31)

OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent catch by the sub fielder! Logan van Beek digs it in short at the bodyline of the batter. Dube pivots on the back foot for the pull but gets more of a top edge. It flies all the way down to long leg, where the sub fielder, Timm van der Gugten, takes the catch over his head. He realises that he is going over the ropes and gets rid of the ball by tossing it up. He, then, comes back into the field of play and grabs it with ease to his left. End of a top knock by Shivam.

  • .

Gone? Shivam Dube has been asked to wait as the umpires check the catch.

  • 19.1

SIX! Perfect start to the over for India! Logan van Beek just misses his yorker and bowls a low full toss, on middle. Shivam Dube clears his front leg and looks to slog it away but gets it from the bottom of the bat. However, he still gets enough power to send it over the wide long on fence for a biggie. He moves to 66, his highest score in T20Is.

  • .

Logan van Beek will bowl the last over. 200 is still on the cards for India.

  • 18.8

On a back of a length, outside off, Hardik drags it off the back foot to the right of long on for a couple of runs. 21 runs off the 19th over.

  • 18.7

SIX! All the way! Not an easy shot to play but Hardik pulls it off. Kyle Klein bowls it short, off-pace ball. He gets it high enough this time to trouble the batter but Pandya is equal to the task. He arches back slightly and slaps it over long off for a six. The long-off fielder for a moment thought he was in business, but could only watch it sail over his head.

  • 18.6

Good comeback from Klein! Nails the yorker, on off, Pandya cannot get under it and digs it out to mid-wicket.

  • 18.5

SIX! That has gone back many a mile! Klein takes the pace off and goes into the deck. This sits up to be hit, around off. Hardik hangs deep in the crease and flat-bats it over long on for a biggie. 6,000 T20 runs for Hardik.

  • 18.4

Full, on middle, Shivam gets the front leg out of the way and whips it aerially towards deep mid-wicket. Klein and Dube exchange smiles as the latter jogs across to the other end to complete a run.

  • 18.3

FOUR! Dube gets it away this time! Very full, at the toes, Shivam gets his bat down and flicks it between short fine leg and deep square leg. A wry smile on the face of Klein as just before this ball, he brought the man at fine leg up.

  • 18.2

Wide! Full and down leg again, Dube misses out on the glance.

  • .

Kyle Klein has called in for the physio. He pulled up before bowling the first delivery and is looking in some discomfort here. Hopefully, it is just cramps, and he is ready to give it a go again.

  • 18.1

Wide! Kyle Klein is struggling. He pulled out once before delivering, and on the second go, he sprays it down leg. Dube lets it go. The 50-run stand comes up in 27 balls.

  • .

Netherlands have pulled things back a bit with that over, but need to finish well in the last two now. It is Kyle Klein who will bowl the penultimate over. His figures so far read 3-0-17-0.

  • 17.6

Just 6 runs off the over! The Dutch will take it with both hands at this stage of the game. On a hard length, wide on off. Hardik reaches out and ends up bunting it to point. A wicketless but economical outing for de Leede. He ends with figures of 4-0-28-0.

  • 17.5

Slower and shorter, on middle. Dube plays a controlled pull through square leg for a single.

  • 17.4

FOUR! Nicely done! Short and over middle, Dube waits for the slower ball to arrive and gets his hands high. He rolls his wrists over the ball and pulls it behind square leg for a four.

  • 17.3

Shorter and pace off, outside off, Hardik drags it to long on for a single.

  • 17.2

Loses his shape! Bas de Leede keeps it wide, on a short of a length, pace off. Hardik swings himself off his feet and miscues it to short third.

  • 17.1

Nearly trickled back onto the stumps! On a back of a length, outside off, Pandya goes a bit too hard on the cut. Gets an inside edge and it rolls behind the stumps.

Coming up on Thursday - Just four games remain in the group stage, three of which are scheduled for 19th February. With all Super 8 spots sealed and the seedings pre-decided, there isn't much at stake for the qualified teams. However, for those heading home after the group stage, it's a chance to bow out on a high, especially for the Associate nations. First up on 19th February, the West Indies take on Italy in Kolkata. That will be followed by Sri Lanka facing Zimbabwe in Colombo, before Afghanistan round off the day’s action against Canada in Chennai. The first game of the day will commence at 5.30 am GMT. As always, you can join us early for all the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!

  • .

Super 8 spots locked in - Coming into Wednesday's triple-header, there was just one spot left up for grabs, and Pakistan sealed it with a convincing win over Namibia in Colombo. Earlier in the day in Delhi, South Africa brushed aside the UAE to make it four wins from four, while India followed suit to complete a perfect run through the group stage.

  • .

We have ticked a lot of boxes - The Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav says that there was a bit of dew around, which made things slightly challenging for the bowlers, but overall, he is very happy with the performance. He acknowledges that they could find themselves in similar situations again, such as losing early wickets, but stresses that it is important for the batters to understand their responsibilities. Speaking about Dube, he recalls his knock in Vizag against New Zealand, mentioning that he wanted the Player of the Match award that day as well. Says that it was an amazing effort from Dube to help India reach 193. He feels the team has ticked a lot of boxes and adds that even in victory, there are lessons to be learned. On India’s bowling options, he describes it as a good headache to have, with plenty of variety at their disposal. He concludes by saying he is happy with how things are progressing, highlighting that contributions are coming from everyone.

  • .

We failed to make the key moments count - The captain of Netherlands, Scott Edwards says that they started really well. Adds that Aryan Dutt has been amazing for them, especially bowling in the Powerplay. Mentions that they know India has the firepower, and they were in the game as well, but a couple of missed chances and some misexcution costed them. Says that they had a few wickets in hand towards the end and took the bowlers down. Edwards shares that any time you come to India, you learn a lot. Smaller grounds, flatter wickets, and large crowds with so much hype. He believes that they did not play to their potential in this World Cup, did well in patches, but failed to make the key moments count.

  • .

    Time for the presentation ceremony...

  • .

Dube's blitz powered India to 193 - Earlier, after opting to bat first, India suffered an early setback as Abhishek Sharma registered his third duck of the World Cup. Aryan Dutt was outstanding in the Powerplay, delivering three tight overs that set the tone. His effort was well supported through the middle phase, keeping India in check until Shivam Dube's arrival shifted the complexion of the game. Dube's blistering 31-ball 66, his T20I career-best score, powered India to 193, with the Dutch conceding 75 runs in the final five overs.

  • .

Dutch hung in, but never took charge - Jasprit Bumrah had the ball on a string, and Max O'Dowd looked all at sea against him. If Bumrah didn't get him, Varun Chakaravarthy did. There wasn't much separating the two sides at the end of 12 overs. In fact, the Dutch were slightly ahead at 94 for the loss of one less wicket, compared to India's 89 at the same stage. But the bigger question was - who could produce an innings like Shivam Dube’s? And could they do it against the likes of Bumrah, Varun and Arshdeep? The trio did not complete their full quota of overs, with Hardik Pandya and Dube given a longer run instead. While they were carted around, no one from the Netherlands truly took the attack to the opposition or seriously threatened to pull off the chase.

  • .

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Shivam Dube wins the award for his impactful knock of 66 runs from 31 balls. He also chipped in with a couple of wickets but was on the expensive side. Dube says that the wicket was a bit tough, but he enjoyed batting on it. Adds that there was some pressure, the off-spinner bowled well with four dot balls, but he knew he could make it up later on. Dube shares that he loves hitting sixes, but sometimes the situation demands something different, and he has to look for boundaries as well. Tells that the skipper and coach have given him the freedom to bat wth a higher strike rate, but in this game, he had to take a bit of time. On his bowling, Dube says that he is working hard on it, and the results are showing as well. He feels that in a T20 game, you will get hit but also pick up wickets.

  • .

India make it four in four - Not a perfect performance, but one that gets the job done. For all the talk of them being strong favourites coming into the tournament, Suryakumar Yadav's side hasn't quite hit top gear yet, but they continue to find ways to win. They will know there is plenty to improve on in different aspects of their game. The Netherlands fought hard until the very end while chasing, but never quite threatened to get over the line. They bowled well for large parts, only to lose their way at the death. They head home with a solitary win, left to ponder what might have been.

  • 19.6

FOUR! INDIA WIN BY 17 RUNS! A boundary, but that will not be enough! Shivam Dube bowls a low full toss, outside off. Logan van Beek extends his arms to reach out and nails his drive through extra cover for four runs.

  • 19.5

Swing and a miss! Fuller and well wide outside off, Logan van Beek has a wild swing at it but misses. The bowler is lucky that it's not called a wide.

  • .

Logan van Beek walks in next.

  • 19.4

OUT! TAKEN! Low full toss, outside off, Zach Lion-Cachet walks across the stumps and gets low to swing down the ground. Skies it towards long on, where Washington Sundar takes a few steps in off the ropes and takes a safe catch close to his chest.

  • 19.3

DROPPED AGAIN! Tilak Varma is the culprit here, and this is not the first time in this World Cup for him. Shivam Dube pitches it up, outside off. Zach Lion-Cachet throws his hands at it but once again slices it off the outer half of the bat towards deep point. Tilak runs forward and dives to grab it but fails to hold onto it as he hits the ground. A couple more added to the total.

  • 19.2

DROPPED! That could have been even worse for India! Shivam Dube bowls a slower one, full and outside off. Zach Lion-Cachet reaches out but only manages to slice it. It goes high in the air over extra cover. SKY runs backwards and calls for it, while Rinku Singh comes forward from long off. Suryakumar Yadav circles around it but fails to settle under it and the ball hits his chest and falls out. Good thing they avoided the collision here. Two taken.

  • 19.1

A good wide yorker, outside off, Zach Lion-Cachet uses his feet and jams it out towards long on and comes back for the second run. 26 needed in 5 now.

  • .

The Netherlands are not going to go down without a fight. This is a big call from Suryakumar Yadav. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah both have one over left, but he has gone with Shivam Dube. Perhaps the Indian skipper wants to see how Dube fares if a similar scenario presents itself in the Super 8 stage.

  • 18.6

FOUR! Excellent batting! Short again and outside off, slower as well. Noah Croes backs away to create room. He waits for it and crunches it over point for four more runs. 28 needed in the last over.

  • 18.5

FOUR! Picked up and how! Pitched up delivery, angling into the pads. Noah Croes picks it up nicely and flicks it stylishly to the deep backward square leg fence for a boundary.

  • 18.4

Bangs this into the pitch, outside off, takes pace off now. Noah Croes cuts it and gets it over backward point for a couple of runs.

  • 18.3

A bouncer, on middle, pace on. Zach Lion-Cachet looks to pull but gets a top edge that falls safely towards the square leg region. They cross.

  • 18.2

SIX! The Dutch are not giving up here! Short of a length and outside off, slower again. Zach Lion-Cachet waits for it and plays it as a tennis player's forehand. He muscles it over the deep extra cover fence for a biggie.

  • 18.1

Fuller and on middle, takes pace off. Noah Croes takes a couple of steps forward and heaves it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

  • .

Hardik Pandya (2-0-22-1) returns to the attack with the Netherlands needing 46 runs from 12 balls.

  • 17.6

FOUR! No stopping that one! Fuller delivery from around the wicket, on off. Zach Lion-Cachet makes room to access the off side and bludgeons it through extra cover for four runs. 12 runs off the over!

  • 17.5

Unlucky! A full toss, on middle, Noah Croes absolutely smashes it down the pitch. Arshdeep Singh gets his left hand out of the way of the ball but it hits the stumps at the other end and goes nowhere. Just a single. Could have easily been a boundary.

  • 17.4

Low full toss, on middle, angling in, Zach Lion-Cachet drags it to deep mid-wicket for a run.

  • 17.3

Arshdeep Singh gets the yorker right this time, on off. Noah Croes goes down for the sweep but misses. It goes off his toe towards deep third for a leg bye.

  • 17.2

FOUR! Innovative and effective! Arshdeep Singh misses his yorker and bowls full, on middle and off. Noah Croes changes his stance, gets under it and nails the reverse scoop to the third man fence for his third boundary in three balls.

  • 17.1

Short of a length and on middle, Zach Lion-Cachet pulls it to deep square leg for a single. Washington Sundar fumbles but that does not cost anything.
