  • England have won each of the last four men's Ashes series to take place on home soil, the last time Australia managed to lift the urn on the road was back in 2001; England have not gone on to win the Ashes after losing the series opener since 2005.
  • Australia are currently enjoying a seven-game unbeaten streak in men's Test matches versus England - winning six of those encounters (D1) - England's last Ashes victory came at Trent Bridge in 2015.
