We're back. The men concerned are out in the middle. Everyone expected the first session to bring a lot of wickets given the pitch conditions, but on the contrary, the afternoon session saw a flurry of wickets. Enough to show that this pitch continues to be a tough one to bat on. Although with good application you can succeed, as shown by Mominul Haque. Ben Curran and Innocent Kaia are the openers for Zimbabwe. Bangladesh are beginning with the pace of Hasan Mahmud. Three slips and a gully waiting...

  • .

    ...SESSION 3...

  • .

Tea on Day 1 - After that breathless session, everyone could do with a well-earned Tea break. Zimbabwe will be sipping theirs with plenty of satisfaction after turning the game on its head. For Bangladesh, though, that tea might taste a little bitter after watching a promising position unravel so dramatically. The good news for the visitors is that the pitch still has plenty to offer the seamers. If their pacers can hit the right lengths, they have every chance of making early inroads and pulling themselves back into the contest. One final session remains on Day 1, do join us in a short while.

  • .

Nyamhuri led the charge - Newman Nyamhuri, who had been slightly expensive earlier in the afternoon session, returned to produce his best spell. Backed brilliantly by the rest of the pace attack, Zimbabwe kept asking questions, and Bangladesh simply had no answers as wickets tumbled in quick succession. From a commanding 113/2, Bangladesh crashed to 140 all out, losing their final eight wickets for just 27 runs. It was one of those passages of play where every breakthrough fuelled the next. Zimbabwe sensed an opportunity, pounced on it relentlessly, and transformed a position of frustration into one of complete dominance in the space of a single session.

  • .

Comfort before chaos - What just happened? Bangladesh looked firmly in control at Lunch with 76/2 on the board, and Mominul Haque alongside Najmul Hossain Shanto appeared set to lay the foundation for a substantial first-innings total. Even after the break, the duo looked comfortable as Zimbabwe's seamers struggled to consistently hit the right lengths.  But one breakthrough brought the belief in the Zimbabwean camp. It finally arrived when Mominul departed shortly after bringing up his half-century, and with it came a complete shift in momentum. Zimbabwe tightened their lines, attacked with far greater discipline, and suddenly every bowler looked like a wicket-taking threat.

  • 47.2
    Khaled Ahmed b Newman Nyamhuri 0 (3)

OUT! MIDDLE STUMP GOES FOR A WALK! Newman Nyamhuri puts the finishing touches on a superb spell and bags a four-wicket haul! He nails the perfect yorker, right at the base of the middle stump. Khaled Ahmed stays rooted to the crease, perhaps dreaming of a big heave across the line, but the ball is simply too good. He swings over the top of it, and the middle stump is sent cartwheeling. Bangladesh are all out for 140, and Zimbabwe will be delighted with a clinical bowling performance led by Nyamhuri and the pace battery.

  • 47.1

Short and at the stumps, Khaled gets back and tries to hack it over the leg side but misses.

  • 46.6

Bowls it on a length and outside off, Hossain shoulders arms. A wicket maiden for Blessing Muzarabani.

  • 46.5

Pitches it up and on off, Ebadot gets behind the line and blocks it towards short cover.

  • 46.4

A near yorker, close to off, Ebadot Hossain fails to dig it out.

  • 46.3

Shout for an lbw. Not given Very full and tailing down the leg side, the batter tries to flick but misses. Going down.

  • .

Ebadot Hossain is the last batter for Bangladesh.

  • 46.2
Hasan Mahmud c Brian Bennett b Blessing Muzarabani 0 (3)

OUT! CAUGHT! The end is closing in for Bangladesh. Blessing Muzarabani charges in and spears a full ball around off, getting just enough movement to draw the mistake. Hasan leans across, trying to work it into the leg side, but the bat-face is a touch closed and the ball kisses the outside edge. It flies quickly towards gully where Brian Bennett reacts sharply, stooping low to take a fine catch. Bangladesh lose yet another wicket, and Zimbabwe are now just one step away from wrapping up the innings.

  • 46.1

Short and wide outside off, Hasan Mahmud tries to play the ramp shot but misses.

  • 45.6

Serves it on a length, around leg, Ahmed tries to flick but misses. It deflects off his pads to the off side.

  • .

    Khaled Ahmed is in next.

  • 45.5
Taijul Islam c Tafadzwa Tsiga b Newman Nyamhuri 9 (13)

OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Living by the sword and finally falling to it. Taijul Islam goes once too often at the width outside off, and this time it costs him his wicket. It is short and wide again, inviting the drive. He looks to open the face and guide it, bending the back knee to manufacture the stroke, but this time there is just enough movement to find the edge. The ball goes through to the keeper, and Tafadzwa Tsiga does the rest, getting forward and down to complete his fourth catch of the innings.

  • 45.4

Swing and a miss! Short and on off, Taijul Islam moves back to pull but misses.

  • 45.3

FOUR! Taijul Islam is not hanging around! Fuller and outside off, and he leans into it with intent. A clean, crisp drive, meeting the ball right under his eyes as he cracks it through point. No stopping that once it pierces the gap, and it races away to the boundary. Bangladesh squeeze out more valuable runs.

  • 45.2

Hurries off a good length around off, Islam under-edges his attempt square cut. It drops near the surface.

  • 45.1

FOUR! Much-needed runs for Bangladesh! Newman Nyamhuri drops it short and offers plenty of width outside off. Taijul Islam frees his arms and slaps it fiercely through the gap between gully and point. It rockets across the outfield and into the fence. Bangladesh will gladly take that boundary as they look for some valuable lower-order runs.

  • 44.6

On a length around middle, it's blocked from the back foot.

  • .

Hasan Mahmud is the number 9 batter.

  • 44.5
Amite Hasan c Tafadzwa Tsiga b Blessing Muzarabani 4 (15)

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The procession continues, and Bangladesh are now in deep trouble at 132/7. Blessing Muzarabani finally gets the reward his superb spell has deserved. He lands it on a probing good length around off, and the ball rears up awkwardly off the surface. Amite Hasan, who never looked settled during his brief stay, has no answer to the extra bounce. He pushes tamely from inside the line, only to feather an edge through to Tafadzwa Tsiga, who completes another comfortable catch behind the stumps, his third. Zimbabwe are all over Bangladesh now. With the last recognised batter back in the pavilion, the visitors' innings is going nowhere.

  • 44.4

Fuller and on off, Taijul Islam pushes it to the left of point and steals a quick run. Wessly Madhevere attacks the ball but loses his balance and makes that run an easy one eventually.

  • 44.3

Short and on off, Taijul picks the length very late, steps back and tries to steer it away but misses. It goes past his bat to the keeper.

  • 44.2

Big swing and a miss. Fuller and outside off, Taijul attempts a booming cover drive but makes zero connection.

  • 44.1

Slants in a shortish ball on off, angling in, Islam tries to defend from the back foot but misses. It goes off his thigh pad to the slip cordon.

  • 43.6

Even fuller, wide outside off, Hasan leans forward to thump it through covers but again the angle of the bowler makes sure that it beats the willow. Maiden.

  • 43.5

And again. Once more, Ngarava serves it on a driving length and manages to lure the batter. The debutant is trying his best to drive but his footwork is not correct.

  • .

Welcome back. Richard Ngarava has his troops in a huddle near the ropes before they take their places on the field. It will be the left-hand, right-hand combination of Shadman Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Joy. A challenging phase ahead for the Bangladesh opening pair with about 14 overs left in the day. Ngarava will take the new ball. Joy is on strike. Three slips, a gully and a short leg in place. Here we go...

  • .

    ... THIRD INNINGS ...

  • .

Taijul shines despite hosts' dominance - Bangladesh's bowlers were made to toil for every breakthrough, with Zimbabwe refusing to give anything away easily. Khaled Ahmed provided the first spark and was rewarded with two hard-earned wickets, but once again it was Taijul Islam who stood out. The left-arm spinner produced a sensational seven-wicket haul, preventing Zimbabwe's lead from swelling beyond 300 and claiming his 19th Test five-for, equalling the most by a Bangladesh bowler. The visitors now need a vastly improved effort with the bat after their first-innings collapse if they are to mount any sort of fightback.

  • .

The batters cash in - The hosts were laid the perfect platform by an 89-run opening stand before Innocent Kaia took charge with a superb maiden Test century. Combining patience with attacking intent, Kaia stitched together a defining 107-run partnership with Brian Bennett, who chipped in with a fluent half-century. Kaia's magnificent 140 off 227 balls headlined the innings, while composed fifties from Craig Ervine and Wesley Madhevere ensured Zimbabwe stretched their advantage and firmly put themselves in control of the Test.

  • .

Zimbabwe seize complete control - Zimbabwe are firmly in command of this one-off Test with a superb all-round performance. After the bowlers set the tone, the batters carried the momentum brilliantly, building a commanding 270-run first-innings lead before being bowled out. Bangladesh now face a monumental task - they must first wipe out the deficit to force Zimbabwe to bat again, and then build a significant lead to have any realistic chance of turning this Test around.

  • 107.2

OUT! LBW! Trapped in front, and that will be that for the Zimbabwe innings. Taijul Islam finishes with a 7-wicket haul. Zimbabwe end up with a lead of 270 runs. Speared in from around the wicket, on a length. Blessing Muzarabani is a bit tentative in trying to defend, but the ball lands around the line of the leg stump before turning away to square the batter up on the block. It goes on to hit the back pad. Bangladesh go up in unison, and the finger is raised.

  • 107.1

Fractionally short, on off. Wessly nudges it towards wide long on for a single. The lead is now 270.

  • 106.6

Pitches it up, on the pads. Blessing misses out on the tickle and gets hit on the pads.

  • 106.5

Angled in by going wide on the crease, on a back of a length, on middle. Blessing Muzarabani is late in getting his bat down and is hit high on the back pad.

  • 106.4

At the hips, Wessly helps it down to deep fine leg for a single.

  • 106.3

A bit wide again, fuller in length. Wessly extends his hands but fails to connect.

  • 106.2

FOUR! Madhevere flashes and flashes hard. Width offered and on a length. Wessly throws his hands at the ball. It flies off a thickish outside edge and to the left of deep backward point for a four.

  • 106.1

On a back of a length, on off. Wessly steers it to gully.

  • .

Blessing Muzarabani is the last man in.

  • 105.6

OUT! TIMBER! You miss, I hit. Wicket number 6 for Taijul Islam. Offers flight, on a good length, on middle. Ngarava gets down on a knee and has a big hoick across the line. He misses it completely as the ball sneaks under the blade and hits the top of the middle stump. Zimbabwe lose their 9th wicket and the lead is 264 runs.

  • 105.5

Taken at short leg, but there was no bat. Slower through the air and shorter, on middle. A tentative prod by Ngarava but the ball spins past the bat and lobs off the front pad to short leg.

  • 105.4

Fuller than the previous ball, on off. Wessly drives it to deep cover for one.

  • 105.3

An ambitious attempt. Drags the length back, around off. Madhevere goes for the reverse but misses out. The ball spins away to go past the bat and Amite Hasan whips the bails off. He swivels in the crease but has managed to plant his back leg inside the crease in time.

  • .

Is that out? The umpires have sent it upstairs for a stumping decision. However, the replay shows that Wessly Madhevere has managed to drag his foot inside in time.

  • 105.2

FOUR! Zimbabwe go past 400 and the lead is now 263. Looped up, closer to the off stump this time, on a length. Wessly Madhevere moves to the off side again and connects with the sweep this time. One hand comes off the bat handle but he manages to sweep it to the right of deep square leg for a four.

  • 105.1

Spinning away, on a length, outside off. Wessly Madhevere shuffles across for the sweep but misses.

  • .

DRINKS! After grinding hard, Bangladesh have managed to pick up three quick wickets here and will be hoping to wrap this innings as soon as possible. Taijul Islam has led from the front with an excellent five-wicket haul. Zimbabwe are in a commanding position, with a massive lead of 259 runs, and Wessly Madhevere, who is set, will try to get it closer to 300, if not more.

  • 104.6

Fuller in length but drifts down leg. Richard fails to help it away.

  • 104.5

From around the wicket, on a back of a length, on middle. Ngarava stays back and shovels it behind square leg. Richard slips at the bowling end but manages to come back for the second run.

  • 104.4

Bangs it in short, over off. Richard Ngarava bails out of the hook at the last moment.

  • 104.3

A prolonged appeal for LBW. Not given. That seemed to have pitched outside the line. A bit fuller, around leg. Richard is beaten on the flick to be hit on the front pad.

  • 104.2

Down leg, Ngarava misses out on the tickle.

  • 104.1

At the sticks, on a good length. Richard Ngarava gets behind it to defend.

  • 103.6

Floated up, on middle. Richard Ngarava clubs it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

  • 103.5

On the off stump, pushed through. Richard Ngarava blocks it out from the crease.

  • .

The white ball action awaits - That brings the curtains down on this one-off Test match. A truly convincing and memorable victory for Zimbabwe, who outclassed their opponents in every single department. But the cricketing action doesn't stop here. The red ball goes back into the box as the two sides now prepare to lock horns in a high-octane 3-match ODI series. The first ODI will be played on Monday, 6th July, starting at 7.30 am GMT. Make sure to tune in early for all the pre-match build-up and analysis. Until then, thank you so much for joining us. Goodbye and cheers!

  • .

Victorious skipper of Zimbabwe - Richard Ngarava expresses that winning his first Test as skipper provides a wonderful feeling, and he remains hopeful that the team can maintain this winning streak in their consecutive series. He mentions that expanding the pre-series training pool from 25 to around 40 players proves crucial, as it allows selectors to find and field the finest batters and bowlers in the country. Ngarava praises Brian Bennett as one of the lineup's top performers but highlights that total collective contributions from the rest of the batters are what drive this successful result. Furthermore, he shares immense pride in Newman's rapid development, predicting a massive future for him in Zimbabwean cricket.

  • .

Player of the Match - Innocent Kaia is the Player of the Match for his knock of 140 runs in 227 balls. He thanks God for giving him the opportunity, and he is happy to get his century. He adds that he put in the hard work to stay fit and that paid off. He reckons that Bangladesh bowlers did well, but it was his day. He ends by saying that in the upcoming series, they will give their best and hope for a good outcome.

  • .

The captain of Bangladesh - Najmul Hossain Shanto says that their batting was the problem in both innings, which ultimately cost them the match. Najmul Hossain Shanto notes that while the team has been playing good cricket recently, they fail to execute their plans properly in these different conditions. Shanto emphasizes that the batters do not select the right shots despite the talent in the lineup. Shanto mentions that the squad continues to perform brilliantly in white-ball cricket, securing victories in their last few series as new players successfully integrate into the side.

  • .

    Presentations coming up...

  • .

The final demolition - Any hopes of a post-lunch miracle vanished in a heartbeat as Zimbabwe's bowlers came out to finish the job. There was simply no escape for the Bangladesh lower order as wickets tumbled in a flash. They turned up the heat, ripping through the tail. Richard Ngarava picked three quick wickets, while the relentless Blessing Muzarabani ended with spectacular figures of 4/65. It was a complete, clinical performance from the hosts, sealing a historic and thumping victory by an innings and 85 runs.

  • .

Muzarabani’s morning magic - The morning session of Day 3 belonged entirely to Blessing Muzarabani. The towering speedster bowled a fiery spell, removing Mahmudul Hasan Joy and the dangerous Mominul Haque in quick succession to shatter the visitors' confidence. A brief 61-run resistance between skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim gave Bangladesh a temporary breathing room, but Nyamhuri returned to clean up the skipper. In a final, devastating blow right at the stroke of Lunch, Muzarabani induced an edge from Mushfiqur to leave Bangladesh gasping at 117/5, still trailing by 153 runs and staring down the barrel of defeat.

  • .

A shaky start to the survival mission -  With a massive deficit on their shoulders, Bangladesh's second innings was always going to be a brutal test of character. They needed a solid, calming foundation to erase the deficit, but the horror script remained unchanged. Shadman Islam fell cheaply before stumps on Day 2, leaving the visitors limping at 40/1 overnight. As the sun rose on Day 3, the assignment for the Tigers was clear, bat long and survive. However, Zimbabwe’s bowlers smelled blood and were ready to hunt.

  • .

Zimbabwe piled on the mountain - If Bangladesh found the conditions unplayable, Zimbabwe showed them how to master African soil. The hosts turned a steady platform into complete domination, piling up a massive 410 runs. Innocent Kaia was the star of the show, converting his overnight score into a magnificent maiden Test century of 140, while Brian Bennett, Craig Ervine, and Wessly Madhevere rubbed salt into the wounds with fluent half-centuries. Bangladesh’s lone warrior was left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, who bowled his heart out for a sensational 7/138, but Zimbabwe still walked away with a mountain of a 270-run lead.

  • .

The Harare horror show for Bangladesh - Zimbabwe win by an innings and 85 runs. This is also Zimbabwe's biggest margin of victory in Tests. It all started with a relentless Zimbabwe pace attack on Day 1. Bangladesh walked right into a storm, getting completely folded for a measly 140 runs after being 113/2 at one stage. Newman Nyamhuri and Brad Evans made the ball talk. Only Mominul Haque showed some fight with a gritty 60, but once he was dismissed, the middle and lower order collapsed like a pack of cards, losing eight wickets for just 27 runs. Newman Nyamhuri picked 4 wickets while Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, and Brad Evans picked two wickets each in the first innings.

  • 44.6

  • 43.1

Fullish, outside off, Hasan Mahmud pushes it to the cover fielder.

  • .

DRINKS! Well, this might probably be the last break before this game gets settled in the account of Zimbabwe. All Zimbabwe needs is 1 wicket to win this contest, whereas Bangladesh is still trailing by 96 runs. it is just a matter of time before the final nail in the coffin is hammered by the host team. It will be a miracle for ages if Hasan Mahmud and Ebadot Hossain could even force the hosts to bat again. Blessing Muzarabani continues...

  • 42.2

Short and on off, going across the batter. Ebadot Hossain arches back and leaves it.

  • 42.1

Good length, around off, Ebadot Hossain stays deep inside the crease and keeps it out to point.

  • 41.6

Full and around off, Hasan Mahmud rolls this from the bottom of his bat to covers.
