That's brilliant from Markram at short leg, South Africa finally break the ninth wicket stand which was slowly eating away at South Africa's lead. It's not a catch but a run out. Worked off the hip by Rajitha and he took a step and a half down the wicket. Markram was aware before the ball even reached him, standing up, gathering as he did so and firing the ball into the base of the stumps before the batsman could get his bat back down.

There was a discussion between Steyn and Kettleborough about guards, Steyn checking a couple before setting up in front of off stump. Fernando responded by spearing a ball in at middle and leg. Steyn was too far across and missed it. That's a decent effort from Sri Lanka since lunch. Since the ball change they've taken five wickets for 28. The debutant Embuldeniya can be very proud of his efforts, emulating the achivement of Rangana Herath who also took five wickets on this ground. South Africa are still favourites for the match, but it will be interesting to see how the Sri Lankan batsmen get on in this second innings.

He's done it, unbelievable scenes in Durban as Kusal Perera completes one of the greatest fourth innings runchases we've seen for many years. Delight for Sri Lanka, agony for South Africa.
Kusal Perera has led Sri Lanka to a sensational victory at Kingsmead, they beat South Africa by 1 wicket after a thrilling tenth wicket stand. Vishwa Fernando soaked up the pressure of the fast bowlers steaming in at him with the new ball, while Perera unleashed some devastating strokes at the other end. The left-hander took plenty of painful blows earlier in the day but refused to let it bother him as he compiled the innings of his life. The unbroken partnership of 78 took the tourists to the target in a nail-biting finish, a great advert for Test cricket. The Proteas struggled to either contain Perera or attack Fernando at the end, they will be gutted and feel as though this match slipped through their fingers. Double strikes earlier in the day from Dale Steyn and Keshav Maharaj looked like they would be enough for the hosts, but Kusal Perera emerged the hero. After that gripping battle the Second Test will definitely be one not to miss, it starts on Thursday in Port Elizabeth.
