  • 19.6

FOUR! Faheem Ashraf to Andile Phehlukwayo. In-swinging full toss, off stump no foot movement Slog, inside edge past fine leg for 4 runs. That's the highest T20I score at Newlands but South Africa may be a touch disappointed with only getting 192 given how well they were placed after 15 overs. Faf du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks put on 131 for the second wicket via a blistering display of hitting. Pakistan fought back well with the ball at the end but you feel they will need to put on an extra special performance with the bat in order to make it ten wins in a row in this format.

  • 19.5

  • 15.4

OUT! Caught. Usman Shinwari to Rassie van der Dussen. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Rizwan. One brings two, van der Dussen looks to run that down to third man but he gets it too fine and the keeper takes a smart catch diving with both hands to his right.

  • 15.2

OUT! Caught. Usman Shinwari to Faf du Plessis. Full toss, middle stump backing away driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid off, by Malik. The full toss does the trick and the partnership is broken as one captain takes an easy catch to dismiss his opposite number. That was an excellent innings from du Plessis and he has put his side in a great position.

Chris Morris to Shadab Khan. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge to backward square leg for 1 run, dropped catch by Cloete. A valiant effort from the keeper but he just can't hold on to the catch after sprinting and diving full stretch. Nevertheless, it is immaterial as the Proteas sneak home by six runs in a pulsating first T20I. Faf du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks set an imposing total, scoring 78 and 74 respectively. Pakistan set about the chase with the bit between their teeth and there was handy contributions from Babar Azam (38), Hussain Talat (40) and the captain Shoaib Malik (49). However, the total proved just too far for the tourists. A special mention to David Miller who was stupendous in the field, contributing four catches and two run outs. Next up on Sunday we head to the Wanderers up on the Highveld where we can expect these two teams to serve up another run-fest.

OUT! Caught. Chris Morris to Shoaib Malik. Slower ball half volley, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed to long on, by Miller. Malik picks out Miller, the last man you want to see under it if you're the batsman, and with that you would think the game is up for Pakistan.

Slower length ball, outside off stump no foot movement Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to fourth slip for 1 run, dropped catch by Hendricks, shy attempt by Hendricks, direct hit by Miller. It's all happening on this delivery. Firstly Beuran Hendricks drops a pretty simple catch and then attempts the run out but misses. Pakistan attempt to steal the overthrow but once again Miller is alert and accurate with his throw.
