Skipper of Jamaica Kingsmen - Rovman Powell, on the run chase and how special it was, says it was very special and it is something they sat down as a team and discussed, that if the top two or top three batters can give them a very good start and a very good platform, then it allows him, Andre, Hassan and those power hitters, with a platform being laid, to come out and express themselves a little bit more. On the bowling effort that restricted Barbados Tridents to 144, he says at the halfway stage they were very, very pleased, as for the start of the day, getting 144 to chase they would have taken it, and even though they were four wickets down in the Powerplay credit has to be given to Quinton de Kock and their captain Chris Green, as he thinks they batted really well. On why Vitel Lawes bowled only one over, he says it is a case of them having realized some patterns with their team and it is a case of himself also learning as a captain, as he wants to give him a lot of confidence and knows how to go out and bowl, but they have seen a trend where if he bowls back-to-back overs he generally gets scored against and in the last game he played he bowled two, three good overs and then in the last over they took him down just a bit, so it is a case of him just trying to make some match-ups as a captain and see how best he can come up with 20 overs instead of having somebody who has not bowled an over bowl the last over. On Andre Russell's condition, he says yeah, for sure he is good and he was also fit for them to bat tonight, he is just a little bit gingered and obviously Andre is closer to 40 than he is to 30 so he is somebody that they have to keep on taking care of, but tonight he was special as they talked about getting early wickets, something they have not really done for them all season, but in a playoff game they know that their big players have to stand up and he showed the ball to him tonight and told him to get him one or two in the powerplay and he did exactly that. On the message to the team ahead of Qualifier 2, he says it is a case of them replicating their performance as tonight was good, though they did not field as well as they wanted, so that is also something for them to work on, and if they can also, as a group, improve 10-15 percent, he is very big on that, and if they can keep on improving as a group, now is the time for them to rack up those very good performances.

Skipper of Barbados Tridents - Chris Green, on the total, says they scraped their way to a decent total as conditions were tough and they were blown away a little bit in the powerplay, noting that anytime you lose four wickets in the Powerplay it is a tough ask, but they got to a total which was defendable, though unfortunately the dew factor came in and Maaz Sadaqat blew them away, calling it an incredible knock to score a hundred in an eliminator. On their bowling, he says it felt like everything they threw at Maaz, he had an answer, as the ball from the get go was soaking wet and when Sam's first ball went over the top and came back he caught it in the slip and it was wet, so conditions suited them and that has been the case throughout here as they won five tosses and bowled first, and they had the better of the conditions tonight and they blew them away, adding that he does not think they were too far away and they may have bowled a little too quick as spinners but with a wet ball it is tough to be brave and bowl a little bit slower. On whether bowling more seam first up would have been better, he says the first over Sam bowled went for 12, and they felt like with the wet ball he had to front-load spin as much as possible to try and get some grip off that surface, and with two left-handers at strike, himself and Ghazanfar being two experienced off-spinners, they had to try and come up with answers to that, but sometimes you just have to tip your cap as a hundred in the playoff is an incredible knock. On the campaign, he says it was a tale of two halves as they started nicely, lost their way out in the middle and came back here, and it was really impressive to win four out of five at home and secure a qualification, and first and foremost he wants to thank the crowd of Barbados for supporting them and hopefully they entertained them and put on a good enough show, adding that there is so much for his group to learn and to be proud of throughout the season both individually and as a collective as well, though unfortunately they went out in a way where they did not quite play their best cricket.

POTM - Maaz Sadaqat for his match-winning innings of 112 off 49 balls. Maaz Sadaqat, on becoming the youngest player to hit a ton in CPL, says this was his first hundred and it is an achievement, noting that everyone believed in him, especially the management and the backroom staff, and all the credit goes to them. On his innings, he says the way cricket is played these days, strike rate matters a lot in T20s and he just tried to follow that and it paid off. On playing with Kirk McKenzie, he says he told him that he is hitting it well so give him strike and that was the conversation between them. On the partnership, he says it matters a lot as on this wicket partnership was important as it was spinning and back-to-back wickets could make it tricky. On his own form, he says he is feeling good as initially he was not playing well but now he has the confidence as he did well in the last game as well as tonight.

Royals' sensational recovery goes in vain - Earlier in the evening, Barbados Royals looked down and out after a disastrous start left them reeling at 30 for 5. A rescue act of the highest order followed, as Quinton de Kock and Chris Green joined forces to orchestrate a brilliant 114-run partnership, lifting their side to a competitive 144 after 20 overs. Unfortunately for the Royals, their incredible middle-order recovery was completely overshadowed and rendered in vain by the sheer genius of Maaz's individual brilliance.

Unstoppable Maaz overshadows Kirk’s anchor act - While Maaz played at a completely different, unstoppable level, his opening partner Kirk was content to play second fiddle at a rather pedestrian pace. However, Maaz's sheer impact and velocity gave Kirk the luxury of taking his time in the middle without mounting any scoreboard pressure. Kirk's anchor role allowed Maaz to continue his onslaught all the way to a memorable century, comfortably guiding Jamaica across the finish line with 9 wickets to spare.

Powerplay blitz sets up the chase - The chase was effectively decided in the first six overs as Jamaica’s openers came out flying off the blocks. Maaz unleashed a flurry of crisp, powerful strokes that left the Barbados bowlers completely clueless, guiding his team to a staggering 79 for 0 by the end of the Powerplay. The opening duo did not stop there, relentlessly punishing the opposition to stitch together a massive 138-run opening partnership that mathematically took the game away from the Royals.
